Rubios

So going to Rubios was the idea of my friend's wife after her husband and i had gone golfing. I had never been so i thought i would give it a try. I had the world famous fish tacos, with chips and pinto beans.
It was really good! a little pricey for the amount of food that i got, however it was still really good, i think i paid 7.25 and i got 2 tacos, a handful of corn tortilla chips and a small side cup of pinto beans. Although there wasn't a lot of food, i loved the fact that the food was portioned out properly it wasn't like other restaurants where they give you a ton of greasy food, instead it left me feeling satisfied not ill
if you want a fresh baja mexican meal i would very highly recommend Rubio's, i will be sure to go back some day

Inception

AMAZING MOVIE!!!
this was probably the best movie i've seen since being home from my mission, it has everything you could want; mystery, action, emotion, and great cinematography! if you haven't seen this one, go see it! You will most likely love it!!

matt is gone

Matt is gone, which means that it is my sole responsibility to maintain this blog, I will still do my best to write reviews about the movies, restaurants, and campsites/boozin pits i visit. However, this was primarily Matt's idea, i am mostly doing this because it was one of his last wishes.

this past week end camp trip #3

For this camp trip we tried to leave right when i got off work at 6 that did happen but some how we still didn't get up there until dusk. our original plan was to go to the same spot as before but that did not happen because there was this group or kids from usu there and yes the blocked the whole trail with there camp stove. any ways we continued up the Alpine loop (we came from the Provo side this time) for about another mile probably 2 or 3 switch backs and found a small turn out with a little trail heading down a large hill me and Curtis ran down the hill to check it out and sure enough we found another boozing fire pit. we where down in a hole with a small creek by us it added for a nice sound to fall asleep to when we where not singing karaoke to country songs. we hiked back up and after 2 and a half trips we had all of our stuff in the bowl. after setting up the girls tent for them so it would be ready when the came (Amy and camber had to work until 8 so they got up there a little late) Curtis started the fire again and this time we took grants advice and got the 1/4 lb hot dogs they where great even though we had to cook them while sitting in a down pour. it began to lightning but we where in a ditch so we thought we would be safe it was really cool to watch the lightning that was striking 360 degrees around us it add for a cool show while we all talked we finally got in our sleeping bags at 3 am and sang for about an hour in the morning i woke up first and set out to start a fire and in the process woke up Joe. he started to help me when Curtis half awake informed us that it was butt crack cold out side and then rolled over and fell back asleep until we had done all the work. i don't doubt that he was cold because he only had four fleece blankets to use to sleep with and he slept on the ground under my hammock because he didn't get a tarp like me and Joe had when we where at wal mart on a supply run. me and Joe cooked breakfast that consisted of 1.5 packages of bacon 1 package of hash browns and 10 eggs we did not drain off any of the bacon grease so it was nice and grease but amazingly good to eat none the less we cleaned up our camp and went home. all in all i had a great time even thought it was cold and rainy. people involved Matt Hock Joe Dorius Curtis Clayson Amy Dorius and Camber with some last name i do not know.

The film armored

The film armored ok this film what to say well I'm just going to call it straight out it was worthless after seeing the trailer i thought it had potential not to be one of my favorites but to be an ok movie. but that was not the case if you want to see a guy shoot people with a shot gun from ridiculous ranges then this is a film for you if not then don't watch it. it lacked a story from the opening scene you know what is going to happen so you should stop there and take it back to where ever you rented it and ask for your money back I'm sorry but this film was bad i was expecting more out of it because it wasn't low budget the only reason i thought carriers was ok was because it was low budget and i thought they did the best they could with there funding well this one had money but it still sucked I'm sorry but i say you should just skip this one.

sweet home chicago pizzeria

This place we heard about from a facebook add so we thought we would try it out. We went to the location in sandy. it is kind of a ways from the free way up on top of the hill by the wal mart it was only us and two other people there but that might have been because it was a Friday after noon at like 3, or it could have been due to the fact that it is extremely expensive. It was my first time having Chicago style pizza so maybe it is that i just don't like Chicago pizza but we ordered the cheese and Italian sausage it was good but it was not the best pizza i have ever had and for the price it was not worth it in my eyes. but for Joe he loved it and he said he would defiantly be back so like i said idk if it was that i don't like the Chicago style who knows but for 24$ for a 16 inch pizza i would say i probably wont be back sorry sweet home Chicago pizzeria but your not my fav.

Ruths diner

One of my life goals was to eat at a place that had been featured on the hit food network show called diners drive ins and dives so last week me and Joe made the trip up to Ruth's diner in salt lake this was probably one of the best places i have ever eaten at it is up emigration canyon so if you sit at a patio table you can have a look at the majestic mountains around you. when you first sit down the waiter brings you water and a giant biscuit. the biscuit alone is enough for me to drive back it is the biggest, fluffiest, and best tasting biscuit i have ever had. I ordered the club sandwich with avocado on it. that was by far enough to fill two people it is really big and comes with a side of frys also some of the best i have ever ate. I really want to go back at night when the lights are on out side it would be a really good spot to take a date! it just was a fun atmosphere with the life size cut out of Ruth standing in the window and the food was great the price is kind of steep but it is totally worth it in my book.

First campout with out chase :(

Once again we got a late start but this time it was because verdon walker thought it was a good idea to take me to salt lake to get some more acid for the pool and on the way home he sprayed me with desial fuel. So me Curtis and Joe head up AF canyon with the intent of camping at mutual Del but to our surprise we found that there was an 11 year old boy scout camp out there so we though oh well we will just keep driving until we see a camp growned with an open spot so we turned around and thought we would try up by tibble fork first. That whole area was full so we continued up to timpanoke but that was all full as well so we thought we would just drive the alpine loop and find a place we drove for a while and passed a lot of sheriff trucks. we pulled of at a turn out where we had seen a car sitting I'm 85% sure that the people in the car where making out before we pulled up but any ways when we stoped the care they left it is a turn out about 3 miles up from sundance it is right on the side of a really sharp switch back. we hiked about a hundred yards in and found a old boozing fire pit and thought we would call it good there. We unpacked our stuff set up our hammocks and started a fire. For dinner we had picked up some polish sausages instead of the 1/4 lb hot dogs so yes we did get the inferior wiener if you ask grant gagon. any ways that night we slept really well nice and warm it is probably one of my favorite camp sites now. In the morning we awoke ready for the day to the nice sun rise well that is me and Joe awoke Curtis awoke for about 30 sec to say I'm cold Joe make a fire then he fell back asleep until the food and fire where ready. For breakfast we ate half a package of bacon 3/4 of a package of southern style hash browns and 6 eggs all mixed into one it was really good. after lying in our hammocks for another few hours talking and listening to some country music we headed for home with another epic trip under our belt. people involved Matt Hock Joseph Dorius and Curtis Clayson.

film carriers

The film carriers,
I thought it was an ok film but Joe and chase how ever thought it was a really bad movie. The reason i thought it was decent is that it made me think to my self which kind of person would i be if i was in that situation would i be like the one guy who is heartless and feels that if you are infected you are already dead and all he wants is to live or would i be like the other two that thought "we are all going to be infected at one point so we should love people". it was not the best movie i have ever seen and i probably wouldn't go see it again but for a Saturday night that we didn't have any thing to do and getting it from red box for only a dollar it was a good way to fill time.

Hippy fest number 1

the first time we went"camping" we ended up going to Joe's cabin up past Kamus it was a lengthy drive in which we saw a few deer and a stoped at the only grocery store in Kamus. We decided that it is a law in Kamus that you have to have at least one piercing in a place that should never be pierced (eye brow, tong, nose you name it). when we arrived to the cabin it started to rain. we proceeded to set up our stuff inside and then went on our hunger quest we went out side to find a BBQ to good our steaks on the coals would not light so we ended up using a propane BBQ while lighting the BBQ some thing went horribly wrong and the BBQ shot out a flame ball the size of a car tire. when me and Joe regained our eye sight we noticed that there was flames traveling down the pipe and towards the tank yelling a propane word Joe leaped into action putting the flame out with his bare hand like a real man! We then went inside and cooked our beans and rice the food was not as good as we thought it should have been I felt sick for the rest of the trip. we watched x men origins and went to bed the next morning we began home. we stoped in kamus again at a pizza shop sorry I don't recall the name but they have these amazing nuggets called cheese doodles they are much like a cinnamon roll but they have garlic butter instead of cinnamon and cheese on top. all in all I would have called in a good trip. People involved me (Matt Hock) Joe Dorius and Chase Carlson ( BBQ storey dramatized for effect but it did light on fire and Joe did use his hand)

just to start

So me (Matt Hock) and Joseph Dorius have decided to make a blog of all of our thoughts and actions of the past few months the name came because we think that we need a place to write all of our feelings on the movies we have watched the places we have eaten and and the camping sights we have stayed in.
